Hello Parents,
You
may be asking why we begin enrollment so early each year. After all, we have
just concluded the first semester and the first day of school next year seems
so far away. I need to try and anticipate how many students we will have next
year because it affects so many areas of the school operation. Let me explain
some reasons why we begin our enrollment process when we do.
1.
Some
of our textbook publishers offer discounts for early orders. I try to keep the
cost of tuition as low as possible and be a good steward of our resources. We
don’t need to order more than we need and have extra curriculum that either
sits on our shelves for a year or we have to pay for return postage and a
restocking fee.
2.
Staff
contracts are offered during the month of March. Staff members need to know how
to plan their lives in case we are not planning to hire them for next year. We
certainly don’t want to hire a staff member and at a later date have to tell
them they are being laid off. For example, if our re-enrollment numbers are low
in May because many wait to re-enroll, and I tell the staff member that it
appears we cannot use them next year and then find out at a later date that our
enrollment has increased enough to re-hire them, they may no longer be
available.
3.
Our
MS/HS class schedules are organized early to consider new courses, electives,
etc., that we may be able to offer. Those class offering decisions are based
strictly on enrollment.
I
hope you have noticed two important features that we have included this coming
year.
1.
The
best form of advertising is a satisfied customer. I hope you are pleased with
the education your child is receiving. We are offering a superior curriculum,
have first-rate teachers and an overall quality Christian education. This year
we are expanding our referral incentive program to be a blessing to you and
your family. I know things are tight for many families and several are
struggling to keep their children in a Christian school environment. For every child
that enrolls due to your direct efforts, you receive $500 off your family bill.
We are offering an incentive of $200 off per child for the new family as well.
I pray that you will encourage your friends and acquaintances to check us out.
We will be having several Open Houses in the next several weeks. We also
welcome visits any time. One of the best ways to introduce our school is
“student shadowing.” We allow a prospective student to visit school for a day
(or any part of the day). We select a current NBA student (in the same grade)
and ask them to be the ambassador for a day. The prospective student sits next
to the NBA student, goes to their classes, eats lunch, goes out to recess, etc.
and sees what a day in the life of an NBA student is like. We also welcome
parents to sit in on classes for an hour or all day.
2.
If
you re-enroll during the month of February, you will save $100 per child. The
registration fee has been increased to $200, but during the month of February
there is a $100 discount for each child who re-enrolls. By the way, this
discount is also extended to any other family members of our current families.
For instance, if you have a child in our third grade and want to enroll him/her
and also want to enroll another child into our kindergarten, this discount also
applies.
I
am excited about what God is doing through
